Soapbox Moment May Today’s Soapbox moment is brought to you via a discussion I saw go by on FB last night.  I didn’t take part in the discussion because I know the friend in question who started it likes to stir the pot and I really didn’t want to get into it when I still had A Court of Wings and Ruin to finish.   Nothing was going to ruin my reading chill last night. Nothing. So, the discussion was about  some conservative leaning and horribly slanted essay trying to  make it’s case that the threat to First Amendment Rights being stifled and trampled on really comes from the liberal leaning set and not from the current government.  Citing the (many) conservative mouthpieces who have had their speeches cancelled due to security concerns at universities.  That universities shape the mindset of future leaders and the universities’ administrators seem blind to the idea of equality and balance.  Ie: that if there are liberals allowed to give speeches th...
C’est ma vie May 2017 I wonder if there’s a contest for the most intermittently updated blog?  I’d totally enter it.    LIfe here at Sith Manor has been going well enough- I mean, you have your ups and downs.  Sometimes you give into the seething rage...and then end up having to redecorated everything in the house (don’t ask, although on the plus side, my living room is spectacular now)  Other times, you find joy indulging in rampant destruction of growing things that DO NOT BELONG in garden beds.    Also, getting my mayhem on in Skyrim.    Currently SSG is away suffering the misery of early spring camping in Wisconsin for the Army.  He’ll scheduled to return from durance vile in just over a week. When packing for his three weeks of purgatory- I mean, Annual Training Exercise- I suggested an addition of hand warmer packs.   Having camped in late fall many times and not liking to suffer more than I have too, having tho...

NH Primary Aftermath

Mood:  Primarily Irritated I remain convinced that one of the reason’s why NH so firmly protects it’s First In The Nation Primary status is due to the fact that socially we’d rather get unpleasant tasks done sooner rather than later. Winter sucks anyway, so might as well deal with the would-be candidates when it’s too fucking cold to be standing outside for long.   I’m not usually one for talking politics at work as I think it’s tacky.  Also too, being an argumentative bitch by nature, I can spend more time playing Devil’s Advocate than working if given half a chance. Still, with the Primary last Tuesday, this year's National Election was on everyone’s minds.    One of my coworkers, who I do not like, O----- was talking politics throughout the entire day and at one point started talking about Sen. Sander’s proposals to address the cost of higher education in the US. O----- wondered how such a program would be paid for and as the cost of Teen Minio...
